Postpartum Doula Care

My first priority is to insure that each new mother I serve is rested, relaxed and well cared for. I bring lots of compassion to the new family and try to lighten the load of mundane tasks so that you have time to bond. I provide gentle coaching to assist you with breastfeeding and nurturing your baby. I can help your family get off to a great start whatever your unique situation might be.

Postpartum Doulas Around the Clock

A few ideas of how a postpartum doula can help you no matter what time it is!

8am - 5pm Light household duties and/or support while dad is at work.
11am - 2pm Mom can snag a midday nap, waking up to a tidier home and happy baby.
4pm - 8pm Help with dinner time, bath time, and getting everyone tucked in bed.
10pm - 6am Assist with night waking/feeding so you can get a better nights sleep.

What I Do - Practical Support

  • Light housekeeping: dishes, laundry, etc.
  • Preparing nourishing food for parents and/or siblings.
  • Sibling support to keep them happy & adjusting well.
  • Running errands like grocery shopping.
  • Basic animal care: feeding, walking, etc.
  • Caring for baby while you shower, nap or have some "me" time.

What I Do - Educational Support

  • Coaching through newborn care skills: bathing, soothing, diapering, burping, cord care, swaddling, baby wearing, etc.
  • Breastfeeding assistance, including pumping skills.
  • Information regarding mother care & healing.
  • Help integrating your new role as parents into your marriage relationship.
  • Respectful, judgement-free parent coaching.
  • Provide infant massage tips & instruction.

What I Do - Emotional Support

  • Nurturing the mother so she can bond with her baby in her own way.
  • Assistance recognizing and responding to postpartum mood disorders.
  • Gentle help processing the birth experience.
  • Listening to and validating your feelings about the transition to parenthood.

Pricing & Scheduling

Hourly Rate: $20.00 ~ 2 hour minimum during the day (6am - 10pm), 8 hour minimum during the night (10pm - 6am). I bill weekly and accept checks, cash or credit cards. Hours may be pre-purchased or pay as you go. I don't require a prenatal contract, you may choose to hire me at any time.
