Birth Doula Services

I found my life calling in doula work six years ago. My specialties are pregnancy massage, labor massage, aromatherapy and hypnosis for birth. As a licensed massage therapist I have a special training in treating pregnant women. A 2010 study of labor pain showed women who received massage therapy experienced significantly less pain, and their labors were on average 3 hours shorter with less need for medication.

If I don't have full service doula availability, I might be available for labor massage instead!

Labor Massage Benefits

  • Shorten length of labor, reduce the need for pitocin.
  • Relieve pain and reduce the need for pain medications or epidurals.

  • Ease muscular tension, back discomfort, neck & shoulder pain.

Labor Massage Pricing: $120 per hour

Includes 24/7 on-call availability. There is a one hour minimum. No advance contract is required but I do suggest a free consultation to discuss labor massage, please feel free to contact me.

How Labor Massage Works

You contact me during your pregnancy and express interest in labor massage. We can meet for a free consultation to make sure I'm a good match for you. When labor begins you call me to let me know and give me an idea of when you might want me to come (whether it is right away or to wait for further progress). I come to your birth place or home. Massage during labor can be given with the woman clothed or unclothed; it is typically not given on a massage table because laboring women are very mobile. I work with your contractions, changing pressure and positioning, moving with you to facilitate your comfort. I can stay as long as you wish.
